vajrar0ck:

In these times, the chosen deities of some people appear to them, and they settle their attention on the deity. To some, visions of buddha-fields appear, and they stabilize and settle their minds on them. Some especially experience joy, clarity, or non-conceptuality, and they settle there. To some, images of their spiritual mentor, rainbows, light, and bindus appear, so they settle on those, and so forth. Know that due to the functioning of the channels and elements of each individual, there is no uniformity in their experiences. ~ Vajra Heart Tantra

‘Before Sunset’ tour of Paris: Shakespeare and Company

Jesse: I mean, I always think of Thomas Wolfe, you know, if you ever seen that little one page note to reader in the front of “Look Homeward, Angel”, you know what I’m talking about? Anyway, he says that we are the sum of all the moments of our lives, and that anybody who sits down to write is gonna use the clay of their own mind, that you can’t avoid that.”

More from my Traveler post on the Before Sunset walking tour of Paris.

Depth psychologies increasingly attend to the figures from dreams, visions, fairy tales and science fiction, mythology and folklore; it has become general knowledge that these figures are denizens of the unconscious. A great teller of fairy tales like Tolkien believes that fairies are real, living in another dimension and dreaming of humans. From Tibet to the Yucatan the ancient religions believed there were levels and dimensions to be encountered both in the underworld and in the heavens. ~ The Magician Within

In no uncertain terms, Vajrayogini is the goddess of both grace and destruction. Like Kali, She tramples upon illusion and ego-awareness in terrible jubilation. But like Tara (who is also thought to be a manifestation of Vajrayogini in Tantric Buddhism), She offers grace and benediction to spirits in search of a way out of misery and the samsaric cycle. Vajrayogini is typically [honored] in mandala form and through visualization. The Guhyasamayasadhanamala is a tenth-century text that contains solely Vajrayogini sadhanas, with 46 comprised works by various authors.

Vajrayogini auto-reblog. Time for some secret mantras.

This was the Wombat’s computer background 1.5 years ago, until it depressed him too much and he had to change it to a depressed/dejected monkey. Tumblr was responsible for it then, as it will be responsible for it now.

flashing back

I believe I’ve mentioned before how my workplace is exists somewhere in the space-time continuum between the years 1968 and 1982.

Have I also mentioned that it operates like a high school?

Evidence:

  • Work times must be strictly adhered to:
    • In no later than 8am
    • lunch no earlier than 12pm
    • back no later than 1pm
    • leave no earlier than 5pm.
    • It’s honestly surprising that tardy slips are not issued. I know better than to joke about this, because if the wrong person hears about that idea, I’m sure it will be implemented. I almost wish there were bells.
  • Ladies sneak cigarettes in the bathroom. Seriously.
  • There is a cafeteria with 2 meal selections, for $3.50, an admittedly good deal.
    • The selections however are rarely edible to me.
    • People sit at tables in cliques.
    • It’s still not okay to sit alone and read a book.
  • The gossip is prevalent and can be vicious.
    • Everyone likes to know your business, so it can be passed along.
    • People whisper in the halls.
  • Everyone is terrified of the principle, who might just hunt Ferris Bueller down.

I am now being summoned to the kitchen to do chores. It really is like I’ve regressed to high school.

battles

My computer is on my lap. My cat also wanted to be in my lap. Her solution: sit on the computer and stare at me.

She almost managed to shut down the computer by strategically walking and sitting on the keys.

In the end, the computer prevailed. It’s not nearly so comfortable as a computer-free lap, she decided. She’s now sitting huffily with her back to me.

vajrar0ck:

We can hardly escape the feeling that the unconscious process moves spiral-wise round a centre, gradually getting closer, while the characteristics of the centre grow more and more distinct. Or perhaps we could put it the other way round and say that the centre - itself virtually unknowable - acts like a magnet on the disparate materials and processes of the unconscious and gradually captures them as in a crystal lattice. ~ Jung
